Progress reports go home tomorrow

I am sending home a progress report tomorrow. If your child has some grades to improve upon before report cards, now is the time to work on those! Time is running out quick! I did change the Spanish grade because I messed up. I made the Spanish animal test worth 200 points, but forgot to double the grade when I entered them into Powergrade. When I printed out the reports, I noticed all the Spanish grades were lower than they should be, so I checked and found the error. It is all good now and fixed in Powergrade!! We are done with Spanish programming now, so if your child has a low Spanish grade, then they need to ask me for extra credit. I will only give extra credit for a D or F.

I sent home a paper today about Career Week. Don't forget that Thursday is F-fruit day!

Don't forget the test over the Southwest 4 states and their capitals is tomorrow.

FYI

Hey parents! You should be proud of your kiddos! They worked really hard on their math test today! I'm sure they will work just as hard on their other tests too! We do have a schedule change for one of the tests. We will be taking the broad range achievement test next Tuesday instead of tomorrow. We will take the reading test on the original day it was planned which is Thursday of this week. Tomorrow, I will send home more information about the broad range achievement test they will be taking next Tuesday.

In celebration of 25 fish earned for 25 good and productive days, and also for hard work on tests, we are having a read and game and feed on Friday. The kids can bring a game from home, as well as a special snack and drink.

The 4th grade is hosting an ABC countdown to summer. We are doing something that starts with a letter of the alphabet each day. Our 26 ABC countdown starts on Thursday. Thursday will be A - Awesome Art Day. We will be doing art that day! Friday will be B - Beach Towel Reading Day. This will fit right into our read and feed! The kids can bring a beach towel to lay down and read on! I will send home a calendar soon with all the special days scheduled!

Week of 4/13

Testing Week is this week! Yeah! Let's get it over with!! We will test Tuesday through Thursday. Our work this week consists mostly of review, social studies, and the tests. In social studies, we will begin a short unit on the Southwest region of the United States. It only consists of 4 states: Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas, and Arizona.

Please make sure your child gets adequate rest and a nutritious breakfast. Testing days can be grueling and they need all the ammo they can to be prepared.

I want to thank all of you who either donated or signed up to donate an auction item! You rock!!! I am currently working with Lippard Auctioneers to set a date the first week of May to have our auction. It will be so much fun!

Week of April 6th

This week will be a busy week with lots of test prep. We will be doing some paper/pencil test prep, but also some test prep in game format. Hopefully, the games will break the monotony of the grueling review!! Remember that next week will be testing. We will test between Tuesday and Thursday.

Check spellingcity.com for list 27 to see and practice this week's spelling words.

This week we will finish up our unit on the human body. It has been quite an interesting unit!

Don't forget to turn in your pictures or picture payments if you haven't done that yet.

Peeler orders are due on Tuesday, April 7th.

If you can possibly help with Spring Fling on April 17th, please sign up. I'm sure our planning committee could use more volunteers. Just one hour of your time makes all the difference!

Book kits are due tomorrow, April 6th.

I want to thank all of you who have signed up to donate an auction item and/or volunteer for our field trip to Leonardo's! You are such a blessing!
