Hello Families! Hope you have enjoyed your Spring Break! We sure did! I can't believe we are starting the last 9 weeks! Summer break is always wonderful, but oh my goodness, I am going to SO MISS YOUR BABIES!! They are a really special group of kiddos! The next few weeks, we will be busy gearing up for testing. After testing (Testing is the week of April 16th.), we will have 2 field trips! I will be sending home a note about the trips tomorrow. Here is a look at the week ahead:
Language Arts: Literary Elements/Devices, Resources, Word Parts We will also be finishing up our Genre BINGO this week, as well as our March Madness Reading Challenge. Remember that Biography Pocket People are due Friday. The children have had the whole month of March to complete it. Hopefully, no one procrastinated! lol Our online stories are due Wednesday, March 28th. Hopefully, you have checked over your child's story and helped him/her to edit and add pictures if needed.
Math: Order of Operations, Measurement, and REVIEW
Spelling: List 22, Enriched List 22.5

Week of March 12
Hello Families! Here is a glimpse into our week:
Language Arts (Reading & English) - We will be looking at literary genres this week as well as revisiting synonyms, homonyms, antonyms, and multiple meaning words. The children will be working on their Genre BINGO too. They should have a fiction/mystery book on 4th grade level (or their level) picked out by now.
No spelling this week due to district-wide practice testing. We will be doing our practice tests on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Math - Benchmark Fractions/Decimals/Percents, Measurement: Area, Capacity, Thermometers
Social Studies - Lewis and Clark, Wright Brothers, Midwest Location and Capital Tests (Thursday - Location Test, Friday - Capital Test) I will send home a study guide on Monday.
Science - Heat and Thermometers
Remember that parent-teacher conferences continue on Monday.

Week of March 5th
Hi Families! We've had a lot of fun this week! Your children did super on their giant cubes!
Reading - We will be working on our "book" trailers this week! We will also be working on our Reading BINGO. The children have been reading a variety of genres and will continue this month to complete their BINGO. Hopefully, you saw that your child has a biography pocket person homework project to complete. This project is due March 30th.
Spelling - List 21 spellings of /f/ Enriched list is 21.5
English - Figurative Language
Math - We will be working on creating a number line that includes decimals, fractions, and percents and how they relate. We will also be practicing reading and writing decimals/fractions, as well as buddy practicing math review.
Social Studies - The children's Midwest Region independent study is due this Friday. Next week, the children will be tested over the states and capitals of this region.
Don't forget picture day is Tuesday. Your child should bring home a order form today. The officers from the animal shelter will be here Tuesday as well to talk to the kids about the shelter and how to take care of pets. Also, parent teacher conferences are Tuesday starting after school.
