FYI

We need the game Twister for stage decorations. If any of you have that game, please share it with us. We could use more than 1. Thanks!

The kids asked if we could NOT take a break from spelling enrichment. How could I say no to that?! It is list 23.5 on spellingcity.com.

This month, we are reading dog books and will be doing some dog projects after Spring Break. I am reading The Autobiography of a Stray to the kids. It is a wonderful, somewhat heartbreaking story of life through a stray. The children are feeling moved to have a donation drive for our local SPCA. We brainstormed a list of items that we could donate. They include:

treats
collars
blankets
towels
toys
shampoo
bowls

These donations can be for either a cat or a dog. This is of course totally optional. I've had several classes choose to do this project and all found it to be very rewarding. I have the SPCA come and talk to the kids about what they do and they also teach a mini animal care course. They then take our donations. It's a pretty neat day! If you would like to donate something, we will be collecting donations over the next few weeks.
