Week of October 7th

Hello Families! Hope you are enjoying the cool down! Here is this week's agenda:

Reading - We will continue to read our class story, The BFG.  We cover a lot of skills while reading a class story such as predicting, visualizing, schema, and literal and inferential comprehension.  We will continue to look at "making inferences" as our skill focus.  Our genre of the month is fantasy.  I will assign a fantasy on their levels after Fall Break.

Spelling - List 14 on spellingcity  We will start spelling enrichment this week.  This list is also on spelling city under "G" enrichment words.  This test will be on Friday.

English - Adjectives/Adverbs, Creative Writing

Math - Subtracting across zeros and subtracting money

Social Studies - Oklahoma Symbols Book and quiz

Science - Landforms, Weathering and Erosion (We are catching up from not getting to this previously.)
Caves

The children had fun and behaved well at Turkey Creek School! I was very proud of them.  I am looking forward to meeting up with more parents tomorrow evening.  The children last week did very well with student-led conferences and I know this week's children will do well also!

One more thing.......Most of the children rocked their Oklahoma History Test!!! I am super proud of them!!
